February 4th...

...is here! Woodstock Willy didn't see his shadow on February 2nd so Chicagoland should experience an early winter. Not that one would know it by observing the present weather through the window... WINTER REMAINS!

IT IS NOW JANUARY 9TH

Yesterday was Elvis' Birthday; he would have been eighty-six year old. Not of course that he would still have been alive with his abysmal health habits. But I went a meetup walk at the local mall and the holiday decorations were still there! Around January 6 is The Epiphany; all Christmas stuff should be removed! I still display some of my snowman winter decor and will do so through February. The new year is upon us; tomorrow begins January Double Digits. I haven't heard the sentiment of "Happy New Year" for a few days!

IN THE THROES OF WINTER...

Oh the weather outside is frightful so I just stayed inside today. I will venture out tomorrow for some exercise; on New Year Day I partipated in a long group walk in Busse Woods Elk Grove Village IL. There was freezing rain but the activity was reminiscent of my childhood snow playing days. We never seemed to get cold; the parents would call us inside for warmth every few hours and then out again we would go!

Between Christmas and New Year Day

I'm still saying "Merry Christmas" to people and watching my yule log videos. The United States does not observe the "Twelve Days of Christmas"; we just sing the song! One just ended; I can either refresh or watch this morning's news. I'm sure the big story will be Mr. Trump's approval of the relief bill! This means I will receive more unemployment benefits. :) Gray dreay day....what can one say? I am a poet and I don't know it.

Into December With The Year Of The Pandemic

It is cold out and the state governor has prohibited gym classes. Have to work out on my own! At present a realistic expectation is receiving the vaccination in summer 2021. Unless then I need to concentrate on thinking good thoughts!

The Second Anniversary Of My Cerebral Hemorrhage....

And here I am...a multi-millionaire possibly permanently retired. In the midst of a pandemic. And I am so happy!

My Fifty-Fifth Birthday...

....Is tomorrow! At age fifty-five I have survived ovarian cancer, a stroke, the drug overdose death of a loved one, and a pandemic!
